It didn’t take long to realize that the wildlife in my area were incredibly comfortable around my home. The first morning I woke up in my home, I looked out the window and a black fox walked up the trail behind my house. I have seen that same fox, as well as her cubs, several times since then. Since I have been in the home, I have become used to the animals of the woods making themselves right at home, as they should. My farm is home to 2 ponds, multiple freshwater streams, and acres of old growth forest, which means interacting with wildlife on a daily basis. Bears, birds, racoons, crows, rabbits, turkeys, fisher weasels and more. Supporting the wildlife through sustainable agricultural practices is just one way I try to walk gently on this land.
